Book Impressions - Love Serially

Getting a book review is like opening a gift on Xmas.

When it's a good review, it's like getting Super Nintendo with all of your favorite games that you'd been wanting all year. Hey, I'm a child of the 90s. :) Did you see this by the way?

Anyway, I'm so excited that Love Serially Book Blog reviewed BOTH of my books and had some awesome things to say.  Here's a snippet from the Strange Luck review:
"The writing and dialogue are smooth and the world that Amie Winters creates is vivid and interesting...it's a lot of fun."
You can read the full review here.

And here's a snippet of The Nightmare Birds review:
"Daisy is a very loving person and it really helps to draw people to her, including me the reader. The love of a daughter to her father, first love, and the love of a mother to her child—it’s all there and I enjoyed it immensely...highly entertaining."
You can read the full review here.

I'm so glad you enjoyed my books!:D

Linz the Bookworm's Review of Strange Luck

http://www.amazon.com/Strange-Luck-Amie-Irene-Winters/dp/150880799X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454608472&sr=8-1&keywords=strange+luck

"This book managed to take me from going "Oh this is a cute adventure" to "Wow, this is kind of dark" in a very short amount of time. I'm actually kind of impressed by that. Most of the story felt really upbeat, and then in the crucial parts it got pretty dark. It was a nice change of tone to set the scene...I didn't feel there was a dull moment in the story."

I'm so thrilled that Linz the Bookworm enjoyed reading Strange Luck. I love it when people tell me that they read my book in a day or two because they couldn't put it down. Best feeling ever! :D

Linz will also be reading The Nightmare Birds, so be on the lookout for that review. I'm ecstatic that she chose The Nightmare Birds as her first ever cover reveal on her blog. Check it out here!

The Happening of Unhappenings

It started with a BoingBoing article about a curious book called Unhappenings. The cover instantly intrigued me, then I read the description:
When Nigel Walden is fourteen, the UNHAPPENINGS begin. His first girlfriend disappears the day after their first kiss with no indication she ever existed. This retroactive change is the first of many only he seems to notice.
Several years later, when Nigel is visited by two people from his future, he hopes they can explain why the past keeps rewriting itself around him. But the enigmatic young guide shares very little, and the haggard, incoherent, elderly version of himself is even less reliable. His search for answers takes him fifty-two years forward in time, where he finds himself stranded and alone.
And then he meets Helen.
Brilliant, hilarious and beautiful, she captivates him. But Nigel’s relationships always unhappen, and if they get close it could be fatal for her. Worse, according to the young guide, just by entering Helen’s life, Nigel has already set into motion events that will have catastrophic consequences. In his efforts to reverse this, and to find a way to remain with Helen, he discovers the disturbing truth about the unhappenings, and the role he and his future self have played all along.
Equal parts time-travel adventure and tragic love story, Unhappenings is a tale of gravely bad choices, and Nigel’s struggle not to become what he sees in the preview of his worst self.
Time travel. Fantasy. Weirdness. Could this book be more perfect? I did some research on it and bought it a few days later. It's on my nightstand right now and I've been loving it! Aubry does a wonderful job of jumping through time sequences without it being too confusing and I love the concept of events "unhappening." I tweeted a pic of me holding the book, and not only did Aubry respond with kind words, he then bought a copy of my book. How cool!!!

In the process of my research, I came across a review of Unhappenings on Tome Tender Book Blog. I was amazed by all of their book reviews, giveaways, and reading recommendations. After getting lost for awhile, I decided to submit Strange Luck for a review. I just got the five star review back today! Here's a snippet:
"Welcome to a world of magical dreams, curious claims and the spellbinding writing of Amie Irene Winters. Welcome to the tale called Strange Luck. Ms. Winters will mesmerize every reader with the complexity of her tale, while causing goosebumps at the thought of losing those precious treasures within our minds and hearts."
I'm beyond thrilled! Click here to read the full review. I just saw that they also posted a cover reveal of The Nightmare Birds. Awesome!

So, in short, I'm really glad that I happened upon Unhappenings and hope that this doesn't unhappen. ;)

David Spell started The Scary Reviews because he's always been a huge horror fan and wanted to have a place to post his favorite horror book reviews. Not only did he see his dream to fruition, his site also features insightful horror/fantasy author interviews, guest posts, and a fabulous Women in Horror spotlight. I'm thrilled that he will be reviewing Book II in the Strange Luck series, The Nightmare Birds, as part of the Women in Horror feature in late 2016. I'm so excited!!!

Until then, you can check out my interview with The Scary Reviews, where you'll learn how many books are planned in the Strange Luck series, how I got the title, and what inspires me to write. And don't forget to check out the other author interviews, too! They're incredibly interesting and I've already discovered a bunch of new books to read as a result.

Strange Luck Review From Spines & Covers!

Today I was blown away by a wonderful review of Strange Luck from Spines & Covers. Getting good reviews is seriously the best thing in the world for an author! Whenever I get a new review I'm on the edge of my seat as I read every word. Then I'll re-read it like 3 or 4 times. Needless to say, this review certainly made my day.

Here’s a sample of the review: "It is a funky mixture of mystery and fantasy, leaving the reader to wonder if they had actually read the book or if it was all a dream." Check out the full review here.
